My mom went silver by 45 so I'm guessing they're going to come fast and furious now. </p> <p>I don't mind them much; in fact they help me stretch my time between highlighting appointments as they really blend my roots. :) Their texture is annoying though, as they don't lay with my curls or follow the curl pattern, so they mean that I end up wearing my hair straight more often, which is much more time-consuming. </p> <p>That said, I feel lucky for every day I'm given on this beautiful planet and for every white hair that I've been lucky enough to have been given a chance to accumulate. I was fortunate to have a very serious health scare in my late 20s, which has given me such an appreciation for growing older (in that I learned first-hand that being able to do so is not a given). We scream when she pulls them out! They are a different texture. For some reason, I have NO desire to even tell my guy about this. I'm keeping this one secret for as long as I can! He, on the other hand, has about 100 grey hairs. He blames them all on me. I tend to agree that I'm at fault. He shaves his head with a 0 or 1 clip so they never are a big deal. I was plucking them out for a long time, but I started getting a big patch in my bangs and the plucking was making too big of a hole. I started dying it myself when I lived in an apartment, but I'd always make a giant mess. Once I moved to a brand new house I was too scared to do it myself, so I get it professionally done every 7 weeks. </p> <p>To me, the cost is totally worth it.
