We currently have blackout curtains in our bedroom.

Where did you ladies get your blackout blinds or curtains for the nursery?

We put up blackout curtains when it switched to daylight savings and even though some light escapes out the sides and top, it's still okay (ie. good enough). She doesn't wake because of the light.

Blackout curtains are a must have here because the sun's out from 3:30am to 10:30pm during the summer! I can't sleep! They're the first things I bought for the house. The surprising thing was how uncommon they are here. They offered a very limited selection at the local stores, so I had to buy them through Ebay UK and the ones in our bedroom were bought in the States.

The ones from eBay are the heavy duty kind, but just the backing - so they hang separate from the curtains (like hotel curtains). They're great for insulation too so I plan to add them to other rooms, as well as the nursery.

We have blackout curtains in LO's curtains. They're pretty good about keeping the sun out but LO doesn't mind the light. During the day she naps with the curtains open.

I don't have blackout shades in either of the kids rooms. Oddly enough, LO tends to fall asleep better during the day in bright sunlight than at night when it's dark.

We have large blackout curtains for my son's room which has a sliding glass door and transom on top. Light definitely comes through the top and sides, but the room is dark enough (I wouldn't say pitch black) for someone to comfortably sleep if they are tired. Maybe Olive will get used to the light and eventually learn that her crib is for sleeping. I know my son and I struggled with napping around 5-6 months b/c we weren't on a regular schedule, but at some point, he "got it" and would just fall asleep.

we have a blackout shade but light peeks in on the sides. but i like it that way, i don't want it to be pitch dark. that is not natural. i want her to wake up when the sun starts coming out since that's what you're supposed to do.

We got blackout curtains for Wagon Jr.'s bedroom window but the light really comes through the cracks around them and on top. I'm thinking of just investing in blackout window panels from a home store for both his and the new baby's windows, especially looking for ones that can also cancel out noise because we're so close to a busy intersection. That will be a project for this summer!

Charlie has had blackout blinds in his room since he was pretty much a newborn, and they keep his room almost pitch black. Olive's room has two big windows with the sun shining through them but she has blackout curtains, so some light escapes through the sides. Lately she's been waking up earlier because she's looking at the light.

I'm debating whether I should get blackout blinds. On the one hand, I want her to get used to sleeping with some light. On the other hand she might sleep better if her room is darker.

Do you have blackout shades in your lo's room? Just how dark are they?
