We only have two windows. I would like to get black out curtains for them both. It's on my house to-do list.

Blackout curtains on our windows (east facing) and also solar powered blackout shades on the sunlights. Another issue is heat conservation, our room gets REALLY hot in the summer and we could waste a ton of energy air conditioning it when we can easily close the curtains and shades and it stays much cooler.

It's bright in our room day or night. It's so bright in our room that we don't need a nightlight and still have clear visibility. In the mornings, once the sun is rising, it feels like the sun is at high noon. DH hates it.

No. We're usually up by 5:30, so it's pretty moot.

We have blackout shades. I only use them when the moon is too bright. H has blackout curtains in her room, but that's more so she'll fall asleep on time at night. She wakes up at the same time every morning regardless of whether the sun is up or not.

@Mrs. Bee: We use to but I decided to try what you were thinking and be woken up by natural night. Now I have a lightweight linen curtain up so you cant see in but it lets in filtered light - makes waking up sooo much easier!!!!

We only have two windows and they're not big so I don't think I'll need black out shade...? DD sleeps in our room and doesn't seem too bothered with light either, tho I wonder if we had black out shades she would sleep till later!

We put up regular blinds in our bedroom, and I was thinking that it would be good to wake up to the natural light since I'm not a morning person.

But we have 5 windows that face east and it was just waaaay too bright! So I put blackout shades on 3 of the windows and it is sooo much better. Going to put a blackout shade on a 4th window too.

What is the light in your bedroom like?
