I'm closest with (i.e., share "girly" stuff with...) a friend from highschool, but she lives in CA right now (I'm in WI). So even though we chat on the phone several times per month I don't feel like I have any close girlfriends left.</p> <p>My 2 other closest girlfriends, I only see as a "couple." There are 5 of us and we've all known each other since jr. high. One of the gals moved to NY and we see her 3-4 times a year. She comes every few months to hang out with us.The rest of us hang out at least every other month as a group. We usually make it a night out, like dinner, coffee, sometimes a bar. Usually we just end up having dinner and chatting all night. In between those group dinners, we'll hang out with each other 1on1 or groups of 3. People always comment that we look like Asian SATC girls. One of the girls is a kick-ass lawyer (single), one is a fashion editor (living with her BF of 20 years), one is in IT (divorced with 2 kids) and then there's me (Internet Marketer, married with 2 kids). The girl in NY is a fashion designer. There are 6 of us, we're all very different and joke that each of us serves our special purpose for each other. 4 of the girls have been friends since elementary school, I started hanging out with them in college and we all got even more close, I never had this before and I can't even express to you all how grateful I am for these girls in my life. We fight, we have real-life issues, we have times that we aren't as close, but when we all get together it's like we're just picking right up. We get together once a year without question for "Thanksmas" with husbands and kids and do a big meal with lots of food and drinks. We've been doing that for 5 years now and I hope it never ends! Last year we only had 1 kiddo there--this year we're going from the one to 5. WOAH haha! Four if we add grad school to that list. From each of those groups I have 1-2 close friends. We are spread out all over the country (and the globe). I feel like it would be really weird and awkward if we all were in the same place at the same time, as everyone is SO DIFFERENT. I do make an effort to see everyone when I can though, though with some of these girls it has been more than 4 years since we've been physically present in the same place!</p> <p>We were never like the SATC girls though. Too prudish for that, haha. We used to be a group of 7 but in the past 6-7 years it's become 2 separate groups. One group is married or in committed relationships and the other group likes to party and aren't as committed. We're not the same as we used to be! </p>
