We're the first in our circle to have a baby, even though DH and I are 34/30 respectively. We had/have a pretty nice circle of other DINKS that we spent time with.<br /> It's only been 8 weeks since our daughter was born, but I would suspect those relationships will change a little bit. One of my friends came to visit the other day, and she was having a birthday party that she invited me to on facebook. She's like.... I literally hovered over your name for 5 minutes before adding you to the invite list considering it's at 9pm in a bar in the downtown core of the major city 45 minutes from our suburb. I told her I certainly appreciated the invite, and am really happy when people still think to include me because it's nice to have the option! But unfortunately I had to decline...</p> <p>I kind of assume some of the more peripheral "friend of a friend that I see out and about" will fall away. But it's pretty common in our fields to wait till later to have kids so I'm not sure if they plan on having kids or not. Only one couple has said they don't really want kids (though the husband does, we'll see how that goes). But the wife really likes their lifestyle so she's vetoed the idea.
