I wouldn't be able to stand that regularly happening to me. I have a very flaky cousin though. She lived an 8 hour drive away, near another friend of mine. Every time I went to visit my friend, once or twice a year, I'd let her know and try to meet up with her. She'd say ok, let me know what the plan is and I"ll come meet you.
