I almost never get cavities, have had several sealants to prevent but never any invasive work, etc. I've had several teeth pulled but only because I have small jaw so there was overcrowding. My mom said that our family was putting two different jaw structures together and that started our problems. We didn't have dental insurance growing up so I never got regular cleanings. And my parents didn't make me floss every day. I had so many cavities. Now I have 3 crowns since the old silver fillings ruined my teeth. I am definitely going to teach our kids how to take good care of their teeth. Last night, I lamented that I don't take care of my teeth, etc. Truth is, my dentist told me that I would have trouble with my teeth no matter what I did. I have soft, crevicey teeth and I sleep with my mouth open ( which softens the teeth even more). I brush and floss daily. (I'm also just happy I have dental insurance that helped cover everything today) I'm going to work with my kids and make sure they (hopefully) don't have the same probs I do. </p> <p>So, do you have amazing teeth with no effort or do you have to work hard like I do. </p>
