No.... since we have year long maternity leaves I don't know anyone who pumps when they go back to work. I don't even think it would be physically possible with my job and schedule.

@SeptMomma12: nope, our offices are pretty insulated and the ladies know the deal anyways. I have a do not disturb sign for my door (with a cow on it!)

I'll be in my office whenever I'm back from my June baby! I'm going to have to add a lock to my door and I'll most likely be bringing in a mini fridge. We are a small office so everyone will know what's going on but I can already anticipate my boss yelling instructions and questions through the door!

@SeptMomma12: I actually pump in my office, almost always while on conference calls! No one can hear (I checked by calling my best friend) as long as I'm not on speaker phone. That said, I have a rented Medela Symphony from the hospital (it is covered by my insurance and is AMAZING and super quiet). I have a Medela PISA at home that is definitely louder than my Symphony at work... But still quiet enough that no one could hear it outside my office, but not quiet enough that I'd feel comfortable pumping while on a conference call.

No... I work for a small company with only 3 girls... 2 of which are pumping now. The other girl I work with uses her office and has to put a sign up at the bottom of the stairs (she has her own space upstairs, but it is all open). I am left with the upstairs conference room with a giant cardboard box covering the glass door!
AND the women's restroom doesn't work 1/4 of the year (freezes in winter) so I have nowhere to wash parts. I make due, but no fun. (the kitchen is in the shop with the guys... no thanks).

Each of our facilities has a designated spot to pump. Nothing too fancy but usually a chair, a table, and a pump sit in there. There's a ton of women where I work though and one room isn't really enough for everyone so I prefer pumping in my office. They're moving me offices soon though so I probably won't have that accommodation any more.

yes. it's a large room (looks like a former office suite maybe) with about 6 curtained off sections, each of which has a chair and a pump. there's also a sink, microwave and refrigerator. even though i have my own office, i am grateful for the lactation room so that i won't be disturbed and can deal with all my pumping gear in one private place.

No, I pumped in my office and pretended that nobody could hear. I like that I can keep working if necessary. I also bought a mini fridge for my office. I feel like parading my pump through the office would be more obtrusive than the sound. I felt very self conscious the first week before I bought the fridge when I used a communal fridge. When someone without an office is pregnant, they provide an empty office.

Yes, we have a mother's room on my floor with comfy chairs, a TV and cubbies for storing pumps or other belongings as well as a small refrigerator. It is nice but we have a lot of working moms here so the company is pretty accommodating. HR even gives you a reserved parking spot during your pregnancy so you don't have to walk far.

Our office floor was renovated 4 years ago and a mini-kitchen was turned into a "post-natal room." I should check it out sometime. I know there was a fridge and sink in there pre-renovation but I have no clue what it looks like now or how to access is. I think it's just open unless you lock it from inside?

Yes, though it gets converted to other uses when there's nobody who is pumping. We're a very small company so most of the time it isn't needed for pumping. It certainly will return to its status as a pumping room in a few months though, when I come back from maternity leave. It's basically a small office with a door, window (which will be papered over), and internet/phone/outlet.

There is, but I never used it. It is several floors up and I have an office, so it was just more convenient to stay put. Also, I didn't feel right about taking the space away from moms who worked in cubicles or shared offices and therefore really needed the privacy.

There is a room. But it is on the other side of the building, 5 min walk. And I was told it was always occupied. You can't sign up for times. So I just used a storage room so I could pump at the times I wanted and needed too. Plus it saved me time walking back and forth. I just put the milk in a cooler and in the fridge with everyone's lunches.
