I have been trying to suggest some that are a little calmer, so to speak, like wooden blocks, a shape sorter, and other wooden toys. I am just aiming for some balance. Since DS is only 8 months and has three sets of grandparents, DH and I aren't really getting him anything for Christmas other than a 1st Xmas ornament, his stocking and the carseat we just purchased for him.
