Not really, but we try to say hi. But everyone just picks up their kids and takes off :( totally understandable, but I wish we'd become friends with another young family already :( It would be so good for DS to stay in touch with someone if we move...

I feel like we always introduce our kids, but not ourselves. I can tell you the name of every single kid at playgroup but not really the parents/nannies. We talk to each other and are all really friendly, but don't really bother with names.

I try. Depends on the atmosphere and if I feel like the other parent would reciprocate. There's a parent at our daycare who I have tried to smile at and say good morning too. She ignores me so I won't go out of my way any more. A lot of the other parents are much friendlier so I'd rather chat with them, and I do try! :D

No, but I wish I did. I see this one parent at pickup ALL THE TIME and we both know each others kids and say hi and chat all the time and I just have no idea what her name is!! And now we've been seeing each other for a year, almost every day, and I feel weird introducing myself now, so I just don't, haha. I'm the worst.

Our daughter started pre-school on Monday, and the first two days were one-hour sessions with the parents in attendance to ease the transition for the kids. I was sitting next to another dad for a while, before I struck up some small talk with him and we ended up chatting for a while.

We'll probably have a playdate at some point in the next month, and it will help both our daughters adjust to the new preschool. I'm not an extrovert that can walk up to someone and stick my hand out and say hello. But I've been trying to force myself to be more outgoing, to meet other parents and to setup playdates.
