I have bins in the kitchen and they contain things like paper, scissors, markers, glue, playdough, stickers, etc. My son is incredibly neat though, and he knows the kitchen is the place to make creations. Choking hazards, no. So yes to paper, coloring pencils, homemade/edible watercolors, etc. No to glue, jewels/googly eyes, scissors, fingerpaints, etc. I've never considered kinetic sand or play doh art supplies. We have a bin in the closet with her play dough in it that she can get if she wants it. Things I prefer to keep higher is paint and things like googly eyes.
