You know where I stand on this! I tested until negative, bc I got 3 positives and was totally confused as to why. I guesstimated my O date based on the 'strongest' positive, and then had a slight temp raise so hoping O actually happened? We'll see. I'm also glad I tested a second time, as we didn't BD the day of the first time and I thought I was out of the running...only to discover Day 2's OPK was even stronger than Day 1, and we made sure to BD that night.

I used to keep going until I got a negative. But sometimes I'm cheap and try to make a box of 20 last me four months so I have recently stopped as soon as I get the positive.

I keep doing it until I get a negative, but mostly just out of curiosity. I have a 2-3 day surge, but I usually O on the second day. My understanding is that you O 24-48 hours after the first positive, so plan BDing around that (I haven't heard the O on negative day thing before!).

The one I have says once you get a :bfp: to BD for the following two days. I used the smiley face OPK.

I just realized I never answered the question! I'm still using OPKs and probably will until they are stark white.

@mrs. bird: thank you! That helps!

I only did it until I got a positive. I pretty much followed sperm meets egg plan.

@Crystal: yup. OPKs show levels of LH, LH surge doesn't guarantee ovulation, that's why so many people chart temps too, so the LH surge happens right before O which is why you wanna DTD when they're positive, then O should take place & if it does you'll have a temp spike. This image does a better job explaining LH through your cycle than I just did :)

@mrs. bird: you o the day they turn negative?

Mine had a slow fade in, then a relatively quick fade out. There was only one day with a blazing positive though.

This OPK stuff is confusing to me!

For the next couple of cycles, I am going to take an OPK everyday to see what my pattern is.

I keep testing until I see a negative or else I'd never know that I get like 2-3das of positives. For me, more than 1 day of positives meant I was not Oing. I've been getting multiple positives for 2 cycles now but my blood work shows no O, which means my surge tries really hard for 2-3 days, but egg never releases. So, I am looking forward to that cycle where I get the ONE surge and then a negative.

i keep going. when they turn :bfn: , that's O day, so i know we should DTD that day (in addition to the days they were :bfp: ) & be good. you could do it the first negative day and the second to be safe if you're up for it
