His job is very much tied up in his/our personal life, as he works from home and it's a pretty solitary pursuit, so there's a lot of shop talk in our household! I always know what he's working on, and he sometimes asks me for brainstorming help. I also read his works in progress, but only after he has a really strong first draft. It took me like, 8 years, but I can describe the gist of what he does to others. I ask him daily how things went and questions about different parts of his actual work - it's interesting to me (at least the work he's doing in the field). I hear about his new projects and workshops more than his co-workers though. It's a new job and a completely new position for him, so he's still in the fitting in stage and finding his groove. I'm hoping it works out for him because the environment is completely opposite from where he worked before, it was hectic but he loved it.
