I have a bladder condition where I had to be on a specific diet and couldn't tolerate the ascorbic acid in them. She said extra folic acid, iron, and DHA are great, especially if you can get enough through your diet, but that a lot of pregnant women don't, and that's why she encourages taking them. </p> <p>I take them. My friend is healthy too! But granted that was the 80's. I think she had problems swallowing pills, then her doctor kind of yelled/encouraged her. I think eventually she found gummy ones and was ok with those.
