Oops I didn't mean to delete my comment but was able to click back on my browser and retrieve my comment:

I only know of my sister who at 13 week NT scan was told boy and then anatomy scan later said girl and it was a girl. So she was happy. But in our situation I'm sure we are having boys. I read this thread though because I still have that sliver of irrational hope that I will surprisingly deliver a girl. Especially because at my scan they saw the testicles but not the penis! But I'm sure testicles are pretty obvious.

I'm also going to get several more ultrasounds in my third trimester due to my high BP and so I'll get my extra confirmation then.

Hugs again to you. I'm totally feeling the same way you are and all your threads are the topic are basically speaking my own thoughts and feelings.

@mrsjyw: @Truth Bombs: I also had a friend who was told boy after the DNA test and ended up having a girl (which they discovered during a later ultrasound). She'd gone through IVF, and they said what likely happened was the DNA test picked up a Y chromosome from a twin that was lost.

No. I found out I was having a girl at 16w and it was really obvious. I would think by 18w if they're seeing boy parts then it's a boy.

@ladybee: I don't know anyone who had this happen. I had a friend who was convinced she had a girl even though everything said boy, it was a boy and she is still disappointed. I think it would have been easier if she had accepted the fact she was having a boy earlier.

@ladybee: I do know someone personally who was told boy at 12 week ultrasound and at 20 weeks found out it was a girl. Boy and girl parts look alike at 12 weeks, so your technician really needs to know their stuff to tell the difference. I have two boys and went through gender disappointment withy he first. With the second, I felt like I was fine either way. Even though I wanted a girl for me, I knew my oldest would love to have a brother. It has been great seeing the two of them grow together.

@mrsjyw: when we got boy results on the DNA test my OB said it's basically impossible for that to be wrong. For them to say boy it means they found a Y chromosome, which the mother certainly doesn't have.
