One of my coworkers tries to get me to tell her all the time, really sly comments/questions that she thinks will make me spill my salary. But, I refuse to talk about that shiz with my coworkers. I think it creates unnecessary drama (unless you obviously have to see that on payroll, etc). But just to talk about it? I've worked in several school districts with public pay scales like others have said. I know that the girl who started the same time as me (with less experience and less education) makes more because A. she already received a promotion and B. her annual review was "more positive" than mine, even though nothing negative was said in mine. From that, I believe I'm at the high end for my level, but I'm not 100% sure.
