I used to call AAA but now I just call my car's lifetime road side service. Once time I drove 30 minutes after my car told me that a tire has lost some air...luckily I didn't hit ANY red lights and I didn't stop b/c it would have gotten totally flat. And it was raining and dark which is why I didn't stop. B/c as soon as I got home...it was completely flat. I don't think I would change my own tire again b/c I have an SUV and the tires are HUGE. My Dad wouldn't let me get my license unless I could change the tire on my car. He said, "Just because you're a girl, it doesn't mean you should rely on men for things like this!" He then got me AAA for my first year with a license. HA! </p> <p>I have changed my tire multiple times now. I had one time that I couldn't get the lug nuts off and had to ask for help but other than that, it's been pretty easy. When I lived in West Hartford, CT, I had to change it on the side of a pretty busy street while wearing a semi-short skirt. Jerks were driving by BEEPING at me but not stopping to help. I got it changed but decided then I would be moving out of that town in the next year. I didn't even realize my car came with a spare. It's so well hidden in the trunk! I've never had a flat that needed immediate changing (I've had a slow leaking nail puncture that I had to bring to get filled), but I have AAA. I took auto shop for a year in high school (my dad insisted, and if I didn't he wouldn't give me a car). I know how to change/rotate tires, do a break job, change oil, replace belts, and patch hoses if need be. I have had to change a couple tires, and patch hoses on the highway once. Way faster to do it yourself in 15-20 minutes than wait hours for roadside assistance!
