I have heard of kids who have ended up dead, brain damaged, on ventilators, needing liver transplants etc from it. At the paediatric hospital near me, there is a stomach pumping every weekend from these pill parties. I've never heard of the term "skittling." I've usually heard them referred to as "pill parties" but it is the same concept. Kids are taking pills that they don't know what they are. They are combining pill that they don't know how they interact. They don't know how much they are taking. If they do overdose there is no way to tell the hospital what they took. Do YOU know what skittling is? Apparently at parties kids will bring prescription meds, toss them in a bowl and everybody pops something in their mouths. I wonder if that is a common trend or just a random advertisement... I watched a Criminal Minds episode about the choking game once, which is another thing teenagers supposedly do for a rush (choke yourself to get a rush from lack of oxygen). Times have changed--when I was in high school, people just bought weed and booze and stuff. </p>
