Being a daycare teacher, I have a lot of knowledge about the public schools nearby. I'm not thrilled with the k-8 school we're zoned for so unless it undergoes major changes over the next 4.5 years, we'll be trying to get our daughter into one of the two local charter schools. There's one that's math/science based and another that's targeted towards the arts. By the time she's ready for school I will also have my degree in elementary education so I imagine she'll end up going to wherever I teach, so I'm definitely trying to build up my connections at the schools I am most interested in her attending.

If we stay where we are now, Charlie is going to go to the public elementary school just a few blocks away. I hear that that school is good for the first few grades, and then everyone transfers their kids away.

Soo... I'm not sure what to do. I figure we have some time to figure it out though, since he's not even two yet. Although given how quickly a lot of schools fill up in the New York area, I'm probably already late in my applications haha!

Anyway, do you have your child's education planned out at least through elementary school?
