I try to do eat play sleep too because whenever he wakes up he wants to eat! So if he only takes an hour nap and I let him fall asleep feeding I'd be feeding him every hour or hour an a half! If he hasn't had good naps or is fussy I let him fall asleep eating though.

Eh in my opinion, whatever gets my son to sleep is okay with me. So now I nurse him to sleep for every nap and bedtime and I really have absolutely no problem with it. When he's older and weaned we will come up with a new bedtime routine to help him fall asleep but for now it's what works for us and I don't really understand why so many pediatricians/doctors/etc say it's so bad to nurse them to sleep. Plus, I really love the extra snuggles. It is the sweetest thing when he sleeps on me. I love it.

I'm the worst - I almost always nurse him to sleep. I think he'll adjust once I go back to work and it's not an option anymore.

I generally try to follow the eat - play - sleep routine, but sometimes when DD is clearly overtired and she falls asleep after eating, then I just let her sleep. It's so hard to get my daughter down on a nap, that I'll take whatever I can get.

I know what you mean! I tried to implement the eat/play/sleep in the beginning but LO would fall asleep nursing and I didn't want to wake her. I would try to wait until she's in deep, maybe 10 minutes, then I would gently lay her in get crib and tiptoe out. It didn't always work and sometimes I'd have to nurse her again to get her back to sleep, but eventually she stopped waking. After we got her to nap with some regularity, then I tried the eat/play/sleep by nursing her then waking her up to play and put her down to nap. In the beginning I had to nurse her to sleep but we were eventually able to put her right down without nursing first. It took some tears and it didn't quite work until she was about 3 months, but now I can just put her down and she babbles until she falls asleep. It takes time so don't worry - she will find her routine soon. =)

My pediatrician recommended trying the Eat, Play, Sleep routine for LO to try to get her on a "schedule.". But sometimes she just falls asleep after nursing and she's usually so fussy that I just let her sleep. Like right now her diaper is stinky, and I'd like to get up and get some stuff done around the house, but this silence is so nice I don't think I'm gonna move!
