@Foodnerd81: He slept for almost 3 hours! We still have a pretty late bedtime here (he goes down for the night around 10), and he's currently sound asleep. Fingers crossed!

I only wake her if it's approaching dinner and it will mess up her night sleep. That rarely ever happens though. I think once maybe.

I only wake her if her nap is pushing it too close to "bedtime". We all go to bed at the same time (DD is eight weeks and sleeps a max of six hour stretches overnight). Otherwise, I let her nap. She's usually down for an hour or two when she snoozes during the day.

I only wake him if it's getting to close to bedtime. Our bedtime routine finally works and I don't want to mess it up!

After my earlier advice, I had to wake my baby! She's been sleeping 3.5 hours and it was almost 7:30 so Dh picked up. So far so good with going to sleep, just a little later than usual.

@Pepper: how long did he end up sleeping? How was bed time?

@shopaholic: Haha-- see my post from a couple of weeks ago when C slept long at night and then took long naps. I was googling to see if I drugged her with a glass of wine the night before (I drank the glass, not her).

I wouldn't know. I've had so few multi-hour naps in the day, I usually am so antsy that something's wrong when it has happened.

@heartonastring: It's true-- letting her do what she needs to do does show me what her natural rhythm is more than trying to adhere to a schedule that a book says is better. (It's easy to say this today when for once, she is actually napping well!)

I do, but she's only 6.5 weeks. She's not a good napper so when she does fall asleep, I let her stay asleep. Since we don't have much of a schedule anyway I don't worry about it. She's taken 4 hour naps!

I think once we have more of a schedule and set bedtime I might make an effort to wake her-- even if not actually waking her up, being louder around her and stuff.

Yep, but only on the weekends because she naps sooo bad at daycare. If she wants to nap for 2+ hours on the weekend, it's cool with me.

Let him sleep! I used to wake DD up until my LC told me not to.I took her advice and it was much more helpful in helping me understand her natural rhythms and therefore getting into a routine based on what works for her.
