I would just let him sleep but would probably wake him up at 4 hours to keep him hydrated and then just let him sleep all night, if he doesn't wake up!

Hmm..I think if I was in that situation I would let him sleep. Sometimes sleep is the best medicine. Even if his sleep schedule would be thrown off, I think sleep is so important that I would prioritize that first.

@miss-spunkin: I worried about that too but Wagon Jr, the sleepy kid that he's always been, never had a problem. And if they're still sick that night they'll still be tired even after napping all day. Honestly I don't think it would hurt to wake him but I chose not to most of the time.

@mrs. wagon: I'm just afraid if I let him sleep a lot today he'll have a harder time sleeping at night.

@miss-spunkin: I can't remember what I did when he was as young as your LO... but in general, if it were me I'd just let him sleep and expect him to wake up screaming hungry and feed him a ton as soon as he woke up ;) nothing better to let him heal than lots of rest.

@chopsuey119: yeah I've already used it twice today. I have saline drops I used when he first woke up, then after the steam shower I did it again. It has helped for sure.
@mrs. wagon: how old was he? LO will sleep that long at night, but idk if he should during the day? I do keep checking on him and he's alive and well lol I just can't believe he's still sleeping.

I've never woken my LO from a nap/sleep. Not sure if you have a Nose Frieda, but it saved my life when LO was sick and congested!

I almost never woke him, even if he was sick... I think the one time I actually woke him was when I was expecting him to sleep 2 hours and he slept for 4.5. I just wanted to make sure he was still alive.

I think my 7-week-old may have a cold. I got sick on Saturday and still have something, it started as just a sore throat, but then came coughing, congestion and sinus pressure.

Yesterday my LO was taking frequent naps, nursing quite a bit more than usual, and actually slept from 8pm-8:30am waking up only twice to nurse. Very unlike him. Then this morning he sounded a little congested, he'd kind of cough then choke a little, and he nose was very congested. I took him in the shower with me and it seemed to help quite a bit.

But now, he's been napping for nearly three hours, and hasn't eaten in 3.5, which is stretching it for his age. Do I let him sleep because I think he's sick, or do I wake him?
