We have friends with a toddler son and when he was a little munchkin, our group of friends would always bribe him with treats and snacks. When we first brought LO to show off to our friends, we sternly (in all seriousness) asked our friends never to offer LO any snacks, especially candy. Now that LO is eating solids and such, our friends will ask if they can give her her Mum-mums, which is fine by me. But once she starts really eating, the hubs and I are very adamant that LO not be given snacks.

I would prefer they ask me before giving her anything, which my friends seem to do.

We're ok with other people feeding our kids snacks as long as it's not a stranger. We'll be the primary caretakers and people responsible for her meals so someone giving her a piece of candy once at church isn't going to kill her.

I let other people feed them. I regularly have play dates with a group of moms and we pretty much just mother each others kids. Feeding, breaking up fights, running to the bathroom, who ever is close to the kids just handles it. It's great. We have one boy in our group with peanut allergies so everyone just bring snack without peanuts.

LO doesn't have any allergies, but I'd like for friends to run things by me before feeding my LO. Unless they're giving her fruits or veggies.

LO's only on puree's. But if she doesn't have allergies, I won't have a problem with it. I will try to feed her healthy, but I'm not opposed to splurging every once in a while.

We have one set of friends that we hang out with at the playground all the time, and our kids love to eat each others' snacks. It helps a lot that neither of our kids have food allergies and that we both try and eat mostly healthy food...

Mostly we're both just grateful that our kids are eating! It's gotten to a point where sometimes they will offer a snack to Charlie without asking permission, and we don't mind at all. If it's a sugary candy, they would probably check with us first anyway.

How about you: do you ever let your friends feed your LO a snack?
