Yes, esp since they turned 2. They get pretty nuts with the sugar so I have to time it right but as a rule I don't mind.

My DH doesn't really have a sweet tooth so I have never stocked up on many sweet snacks. We do have snacks like yogurt, chips, gold fish, and beef jerky always on hand. We love ice cream so that's usually our dessert of choice!

I have no idea where we'll fall on this. On the one hand, I'd really prefer to limit them for as long as possible. On the other hand, I bake a LOT. So how does that work? Plus, some things I've read have said it's better to not limit access too much because of the whole forbidden attractant issue. But I personally have no self-control on sweets (and neither does DH), so might a sweet tooth be nature, not nurture, and she'll get it from us, in which case we need to restrict it more? How the heck do you decide these sorts of parenting issues?!

We live about a block from an amazing French bakery, so we eat way more pastries than we should. I don't want LO to think that sweets are a big deal, so I always share mine with him. He eats a wide variety of healthy foods as well, so I'm not concerned.

He occasionally gets a few mini Nilla wafers if he's eaten his dinner, and he gets a lot of strawberry yogurt. He's had chocolate once and was upset it got his hands messy...he didn't seem to care about the taste at all. And we sometimes go out for frozen yogurt.

But we're not really a sweets family. I prefer savory snacks 9/10 times, and D generally prefers raspberries to everything else, and so does E.

Yes, DH and I have pretty big sweet tooths (sweet teeth?), and we always give DS what we're having. So most weekends he'll have some kind of cake, cupcakes, cookies, or whatever else we get. He loooves it.

Yeah, he has fruit snacks every day (The YumEarth ones) and occasionally frozen yogurt or cake (at parties etc). But he eats well and never substitutes something healthy for something not healthy. He eats several servings of fruits and veggies a day and whole grains and proteins so I don't worry too much about some sweets.

We didn't for a long time, because he couldn't stop at just one piece and threw a tantrum if he didn't get like five chocolates at once... he's better with the self control now, so we give him candy but try to stay away from it in the evenings. He's hard enough to put to bed as it is!

Not until she was 2. Now I let her have a little bit, but she doesn't ask for them. My parents brought a cake over last week, and LO didn't as for any even though we ate it in front of her and in fact directed us to "eat cake." She had half a small foil wrapped Easter egg (the smallest ones) and said all done. She was more interested in her yogurt melts! Strange child
