No, specifically because I was worried that the transition to his crib would be really difficult. Turns out I just made my life more difficult.

we have the snugabunny swing by fisherprice and it supports LO's head so i'm happy to let her sleep in there. its hit or miss though she usually just wants to sleep in my arms or in her car seat

DS isn't a fan of his swing, so the majority of the time he naps in his crib. But if he falls asleep in his car seat with his head slumped over, I just leave him. He doesn't seem to mind any, so I don't worry about it.

@regberadaisy: I think it did help. We also put a towel under the crib mattress so it is at an incline.

@mrs. wagon: hahah that's what I did. Put her down twice again so far, first time she lasted 30minutes in the bassinet. Now she's been in there for 20minutes. Fingers crossed.

@artbee: My husband was reading that sleeping upright helps with acid reflux. Which a swing with a slight recline is perfect for. Did you find it helped your daughter?

Yep. He won't sleep in anything but his rock n play bassinet, swing, carseat or boppy (propped). Or in someones arms. Working on getting him to nap in pack n play this week (fail so far!).

I had a little hierarchy-- I'd try the crib or bassinet first, and if he wouldn't sleep there, then the bouncy chair, and if that failed, then the swing. The swing ALWAYS did the trick so I left it to be my last resort. He took many a nap in there-- I ended up feeling like as long as he got one solid nap in the crib or bassinet in a day, swing naps were fine. And I didn't worry about slumped heads-- he didn't seem bothered by it. He still naps in his stroller with a slumped head (we don't even need a recline! but ours reclines all the way) and he's fine.

The LO used to nap in there when she was really little. The head slump seems to be able to same as a stroller and car seat. Kids nap in those for a really long time.

LO napped in her swing for a long time. She'd slump, and she'd also slump if she was in her car seat napping. I just let her go though, anything to keep her napping!

Haha, NavyBaby really only naps in his swing (he's 9 weeks old) - I like being able to see him.

...maybe I should start trying to put him in his crib for naps...

His naps are still just so erratic (sometimes they're 20 minutes, sometimes they're 3 hours and they never happen at the same time) it doesn't seem worth it to put him in the crib!

Lo use to nap in her swing. Her slumping head would really bug me, but I would just leave it alone since it didn't seem to bother her. She stopped swing napping at around 3 months though :(

LO napped in her swing up until last week and she's 9 weeks old now. We've been trying to do the crib for the past few days because she seems to be resisting naps now and it's too stimulating for her to be downstairs in the swing.

For some reason this week she is refusing to nap in her bassinet. Could be last couple nights I've been so tired by the morning when she's fussy I just hold her otherwise she wakes up every 20minutes. *sheepish grin*
So yesterday the only time she napped outside of my arms for more than 15 minutes was her swing.
Today I tried to put her in her bassinet twice and she woke up crying. So the third time I tried the swing she woke up but went back to sleep.

The swing DOES recline but it's not a full recline. I wouldn't say her head is slumped over but it's def slumped to one side. But she's perfectly capable of moving her head. I've gone over there twice to readjust her head so it's not slumped to one side but she just likes sleeping like that. Even when we're holding her upright in our arms she likes to slump to one side.
I'm just worried about negative physical effects of letting her sleep with her head slumped to one side.

Anything I can do to combat it? Fold a receiving blanket on that side of her head?

Granted it's only the second time...but I'm a worry wart!

P.S. I'd much rather she sleep in her bassinet/crib. She's moving around so much while sleeping in the swing I don't feel like she's getting a "good" nap in.
