We never really needed it at night. When nothing else would work, the swing would. I just kept randomly offering/ trying the crib but if it didn't work she went back to her swing. She napped in crib more and more and naturally started napping there by the time she grew out of the swing. And she didn't grow out of it until 12 months! This week she actually took a 1 hour and 45 min. nap in the swing and it was AMAZING how much I got done! I tried to replicate it again every day since, and no dice. Though now that he's older (4.5 months), he naps in his crib because that's where he sleeps the best. But when he was under 3 months, the swing was WHERE IT WAS AT! His best naps were in that swing!
