@NYCaliMama: I have been using Lifefactory baby bottles with my LO with no problems. The glass is extra thick, and I have dropped it on many occasions without a scratch. I highly recommend the bottles.

@mrbee: Lifefactory also makes bigger water bottles that Charlie could use. I'm thinking about getting one for myself to use in a regular basis to increase my water intake. There are some great reviews on Amazon too.

Yes, and glass cups. I just watch him, and make him sit or stand still while he has it. And use 2 hands :) He also understands that he has to be careful with the glass.

@mrbee: sure! I know it would be so scary if a bottle slipped and shattered! I've been wanting to use glass baby bottles for the baby (with silicone sleeves), but am still scared to make the switch

Maybe find a sleeve for the glass bottle? Not sure what size his glass water bottle is, but maybe these will fit:

We don't even let RJ drink out of cups... haha. Just straws.

When I was a baby a glass milk bottle shattered while I was drinking from it, and I still have a scar on my upper lip from it.

Could you find a really thick, heavy plastic bottle?

Charlie loves to drink water out of bottles! Here he is drinking water out of an old O'Doul's bottle:

http://x48.xanga.com/f23e36f075337277648396/b221176488.jpg

He often drinks water out of glass water bottles, and it makes me very nervous. I worry that he will drop the bottle and it will shatter. That would be horrible.

On the flip side though, he drinks SO much water when he drinks out of a glass bottle. Whereas he will just sort of sip at water in his sippy cups. Drinking a lot of water is a great thing, and so I've been reluctant to ban water bottles completely.

Do you let your toddler drink out of glass bottles? How do you manage the safety issues?
