Yes if you put the real # it might raise the cost to cover all the extra costs mentioned above. But if for some reason someone wants to correct it at check in we will change it at no extra cost to the guest. I've actually never stayed in a room with other couples - we usually get our own rooms. BUT I have gone on vacation with my mom and she stayed with us in the room and we put down 2 because they would charge for a roll out bed, but we opted for the 2 queen bed and wouldn't need the roll out bed. So yes, i've lied about it. Because for safety reasons they really need to know how many people are in the room. </p> <p>The case where I would do this is if I had 3 kids. Most of the time it is a max 4 occupancy but I'm not splitting a kid to another room. In college I worked at a really nice hotel, where they had complimentary cook to order breakfast, and at check in you were give "tickets" for how many people were checked in for breakfast the next day!
