I'm in no rush to have my baby dress as an adult. However, she has a mix of more babyish stuff and more fashionable. A lot of her everyday clothes are things that I would wear, but her nicer clothes are usually smocked.

Hubs and I are lazy. Xander's been wearing sleepers his whole life (3 months). Until he stops spitting up on everything I put him in, I'm not going to do anything more fancy, haha.

So I had to look up what john johns are..... and it's confirmed, I love the baby clothing!!!

Obviously, I just have a LO on the way, so we'll see how that opinion changes, but I'm in no rush to have my baby dressing like a mini adult at this point. I think little onesies, and shortalls, and rompers and rufflebutts are So, So adorable. But honestly, I wore my share of rompers a few years back when they first became popular, so I'm into those on adults, too.

I loved the one piece things in the first year, but then my son's personality really started to come out and I could tell he wasn't himself in those kinds ofoutfits anymore, so now I dress him in casual/preppy stuff.

I love sweet baby clothes! I actually think the styles are leaning towards "mini adult" and I don't love it for infants. My mom pulled out all my little baby dresses and I love them - so classic and just sweet. Once they start walking, I think it would be fun to experiment with "mini me" looks, but I definitely prefer classic baby style for babies.

I'm not a huge fan of babyish clothes either. I try to dress her in what I find to be stylish. Of course if money was no object, she'd be a fashion plate! My mom, MIL and SIL always buy her stuff from Carter's though. Some of it is cute but I'm not the hugest fan. Of course she wears it but if we're going out I usually dress her in the things I pick out. ;)

I prefer little man clothing, especially now that he's older, but nothing over the top. I'm definitely not against "babyish" clothes either. They are are only little for so long, I think some of it is really cute! I'm also all about comfort and what's practical for my DS.

@kjpugs: I think that since that's what is all over the market, that's what family/friends buy! Carters is pretty prime example. I've found some cute stuff there that didn't have wording on it; for 0-6 months they are the most comfortable/functional so I bought a lot there. But I definitely prefer gap, TCP and h&m.

I did find one onesie I LOVED that had the wording, "Little Big Man" and I thought it was cute.

@kjpugs: I hated onesies too and was all about t-shirts and shorts... until LO got mobile and his tummy was all red from scooting in t-shirts! We actually never put him in them until recently because his HUGE head made them so scary to use when he was itty bitty :)

I SO agree!!!!!!!!! I love adult-like separates or dresses that look like a little kid version of something that could be adult. I am not a huge fan of onesies especially not past 12 months at all. They're cute on bitty babies but that's it. I am REALLY not into the little shirts that say stuff like "Daddy's Princess" or "Mommy's Home Run Boy" or whatever, I feel like if you wouldn't wear it as an adult why put it on a kid!?! But I know some people feel the exact OPPOSITE! So I just hope people who like those don't buy us too many clothes :)

I've never been a fan of babyish clothes, P has some things that I consider pretty babyish that she'll wear *sometimes* but that's usually just bc someone gifted it to her.... I still will try & take parts of an outfit to pair it with something I like.

I love when DS looks like a little man, and I love babies in formal wear. That said, comfort is king for us so he wears onesies, sweat pants, etc a lot. I have adorable jeans and suits for him, but I save those for when I want him to be dressed up (church, weddings, etc). We're also trying to save money, so we use a lot of gifts and hand me downs or buy his clothes at consignment shops. The cost of nicer baby clothes is just not worth it to me, and many of the little man styles I like cost more than babyish stuff (especially free hand me downs).

@sarbear: I agree, around the house comfort is my only concern. She'll often hang out in just a onesie, or lately in this heat - just a diaper. At least they're cute cloth ones!

i love dressing DS like a little man! but that's mostly for when we go out. when we are just bumming around the house, i'm all for ease and comfort, so more onesies and cotton pants. my MIL buys him tons of cutesy, baby clothes(Still at 13 months) and i don't really like it. i really don't like boys 1 piece rompers, but DH does and MIL buys them....i usually try to return them :o)

As cute as the little man styles are, we are all about comfort and being able to get messy. We'll give up the Carter's baby clothes when we get to potty training, when snaps become difficult. I love how the short sleeved onesies don't ride up like shirts do. Most pants are hard for him to move in, so we mostly go with athletic style pants and shorts. We don't really follow styles or trends even in our adult clothes.

It's summer in Florida, so he currently wears a cotton tshirt and Oxford shorts. It's way too hot to care if he looks like an adult or baby. I feel bad making him wear a polo shirt, at this point. In the winter, I dressed him more grown up, though. I don't like anything too kiddie ("I love grandma" and such). He totally wears things like TMNT and batman shirts, though.
