It's a pretty name, but I think it's also a very trendy name. It depends on whether that matters to you or not.

I really like the name Everly. My cousin just named her little girl (last winter) that name - it was the first time I’ve heard it. I personally am not persuaded by a names meaning one way or the other and agree with others it so rarely comes up in life.

I prefer more traditional names so I would probably default to Evelyn. But I agree that it sounds great with your other kids' names.

And I would not worry about the Everly Brothers because that is so far removed from 2020 by now. Our parents grew up during that era, not even us. I don't think your daughter's generation will have much of an association with that reference.

@crazydoglady: I love the name Claudia but it means lame/crippled, I couldn't get on board. I have a relative that named her kid Tanner--as in, to skin and process dead animals ?? But in reality who's ever going to meet a Tanner or Claudia and be put off, they sound nice.

I think it’s pretty. And it’s also very trendy in my area. Two at my daughters little dance school. And one local popular instragram kid. I still wouldn’t mind it though. My one kid has a top popular name. I do like Evelyn as an option.

I have a Great Aunt named Beverly also known as Bevie Jo by her family as her middle name is Jo. Maybe 5 years ago, I went on a trip with my grandmother and her. I told her I was going to start calling her Aunt Everly as that had become a trendy name, and she just loves it!

@crazydoglady: Haha I just had to add with the name meanings, mine means “Bound with a rope.” We had to refer to our name meanings twice in school: once in 4th grade and once in 7th. A bummer and less exciting than some others, but also kind of comical. At least a wild boar in a clearing could be fun!

It's not really my style (I favor more classic names) but it goes very well with Reese and Quinn. I will say that the meaning "wild boar in clearing" does make it a little less favorable for me. If you are having second thoughts, what about Harper, Marlowe, or Piper? I'm sure whatever you name her will be beautiful and you are so close to holding her in your arms.

Just wondering how other people perceive this name. It’s our only contender for baby girl #3, arriving in about 3 weeks. But I don’t know if it’s too trendy, only brings the Everly brothers to mind or is just one of those made-up sounding names. Also can’t decide on a middle name. Our other daughters are Quinn and Reese.

Any feedback would be appreciated!
