He thinks they are OK at the beach and at home, but not in public otherwise. I don't really care what he thinks, but its kindof seeped into my thinking and those are the only times I wear them now! Also, my feet don't like to be in them forever anyway. I'm the odd woman out, I guess. I like the utility of them as shower shoes, but I don't put them on if I'm not going to the beach. I do like the yoga mat and Cushe flip flops I've had--the latter don't make the smacking sound and the former are nicely padded, but eventually fall apart (not as easily as the cheap ones or Havaianas, however). I still don't wear them as regular shoes, though. It's not like I'm a fashion maven...I just had some bad experiences with the plastic kind and that turned me off of them. Shoes that shred my feet and aren't even cute don't get a second chance! When I lived in NYC I wouldn't wear them as I had an irrational fear of getting bitten/touched by a rat on the subway platform (to be honest, still not sure it was irrational:)!)
