I live outside Boston and I generally like April-December. Winters are too long and cold, but by the end of summer I'm glad the temps are getting cooler. Fall is perfect weather to me - sunny and in the 60s. First snowfall and the first few weeks of snow are pretty too. But by the end of winter everything here is grimy and dirty from all the salt/sand.

I like having 4 seasons for sure; but I wouldn't complain if winter were cut down to snowing only on Christmas eve and Christmas day, and then spring starting!

I grew up with one year-round season on an island in the mid-pacific. The only seasons we had were rainy season and dry season and the temp always stayed around 85. It was awesome so I'd go for that again.

I prefer four seasons. We live in Florida, so it's anything but perfect weather. The winters are nice, but I miss bundling up and cooking hearty stuff and drinking hot beverages (though I still do the last two). There are maybe a few weeks of perfect weather in the spring, and a couple of weeks in the late fall/winter. Otherwise it's muggy and hot and disgusting.

I'd rather have seasons than year-round perfect weather because I think it makes me more grateful for the season around the corner! It seems like just when you're getting sick of the hot/cold, it's on its way out. But I prefer the transitionary spring and fall.

Like @Ree723: my favourite climate is London. Not too cold or too much snow, but 4 distinct seasons.

Living in TX was pretty nice, because it was always hot and never rained. So Cal had a nice climate too.

The north east US gets too cold in winter...brrrr

The climate I hate the most?! South Florida! It rains every. single. day. And when it's not raining, it's too humid to go out.

Give me four seasons any day!! I grew up in Chicago and loved the change of seasons, although winter was brutal. I now live in Brisbane, Australia where the weather is perfect year round. It hasn't rained here since the second week of July! I am so over sunshine it's ridiculous.

My favourite climate is actually London. Four distinct seasons, mild temps (generally not too hot or too cold) and enough sunshine that it's not gloomy (despite the reputation) but infrequent enough that you really appreciate the sunny days and get out there to enjoy them. Sigh, I really miss living there!

I like all 4 seasons since they all come along with fun things to do, and are good time markers throughout the year. With that said I would definitely prefer only maybe a month of winter so that wed get a little taste of it but not November-march! It's the longest season, I would prefer to have longer sprin or fall weather than winter!

@Mrs. Bee: What you just wrote is exactly what I could have written about Sweden except for it's jacket weather here from September - May! And fall is way too short and spring is just a colder, uglier version of fall! Back home, spring was my favorite season! The weather is actually very unpredictable so even in summer it can be scorching hot one day and gloomy and raining the next. Last year we fired up our fireplace in AUGUST!

I'm a SoCal girl too and I can't seem to get used to all these seasons! Bring me back my predictable all-year-round weather. I'm from San Diego, our summers are cooler than it is in Sweden! Not to mention winter weather in SD is sunnier than it is here in summer! Sure there's that wonderful evening sun and BBQs outside until late night, but the weather's so spotty, we're lucky to get a whole day of sun. The thing I am thankful for is it's hardly ever muggy.

All these seasons do make the year go faster. It's also nice to anticipate spring and watch out for bulbs that I planted to finally pop up. But Swedish winters are killer! We don't have a windchill factor and around my parts, it's not (or shouldn't be) that snowy, but it's GLOOMY AS ALL HELL! Coupled that with the super short days and it can get depressing. I never knew how much I needed the sun until I moved here.

I'd like it to be nice weather all year long. I'm in Florida so we don't really have seasons, we just have hot with a few weeks of nice weather and a few weeks of cold. I just want it to be always nice.

So many of our family traditions are wrapped up in the seasons: beach all summer; hiking, pumpkin/apple picking//cider mills in the fall; chopping down the Christmas tree and sledding in the winter, etc. I'm a 4 seasons girl but I think my husband would love to move somewhere more moderate one day. I said I would like to have a vacation home somewhere warm but our home base has to be on the east coast!

here in Virginia we have four pretty defined seasons, and I absolutely love it. it's one of the reasons I don't want to live anywhere here else. It's nice to visit a warm place in the winter, but I certainly wouldnt want to do it year round.

If only we still had 4 seasons here in the UK! I don't know if it's climate change or what but the last few years have been crazy here! Summer is now one long rain storm and spring alternates between heatwave and snow (literally - we got married in March, in blazing sun. Two weeks later, it was snowing!). The magnolia tree in my garden has leaves AND blossom on right now, when it should be getting ready to drop it's leaves for autumn!!

So, in response to your question, right now, I'd like perfect weather every day please!! :-)

There are many things I love about having four seasons in New York - spring! summer! fall! winter! Each season is great in its own way (though fall is waaaaaaaaaaaayy too short, and winter is waaaaaaaaaaaay too long). The changing seasons make me so much more aware of the passage of time, and I really appreciate a nice day and take advantage of it.

I grew up in LA where the weather was pretty perfect almost every single day. Who doesn't love beautiful weather?

I love four seasons if only winter weren't so long. It's cold pretty much from October - April. Now that we have kids, I kinda yearn for perfect year round weather. Maybe I'm just getting old.

What about you? Four seasons or year round sunshine?
