I love coming up with a menu and finding a few special touches for guests, like fun straws or bubbles for the kids. I really don't like having people over or hosting events. It stresses me out to feel like the house needs to be presentable, I need to come up with food/beverages, I need to be "on" as the hostess the whole time, and then I have to clean up afterward. I would MUCH rather go somewhere else, bring one dish/beverage, and be able to bow out whenever I want and go home. Like, having friends over or our parents and siblings (and their families) is fun and it's so convenient since all of L's stuff is here and the party doesn't have to end at bed time.
