I have a very high stress job working with people in extremely difficult situations that rarely resolve. I love procedural dramas specifically because (as I always tell people) "They have a beginning, middle and end and the bad guy loses!" Real life is never like that, so I love when TV is. USA is almost always doing a marathon of SVU, NCIS, or House and I could always watch. DH hates them and makes fun of me all the time. It's mostly a game for us to see who figures out the answer first. It's usually some random person that they introduce in the beginning/middle. Why else would they take the time to introduce them! However, I'm much more likely to get hooked on shows with a continuing storyline, because there's more of a reason for me to come back week after week. I love crime scene shows. I don't watch it every week, but if I see it on TV, most likely I'll watch it. As for House, if I saw it showing, I don't think I would watch it because I'm not up-to-date on the characters. (Like the last time I saw House, he was hooked on drugs and now I heard from a friend that he is clean.) As for true crime scene shows, they usually have a reoccurring cast and so it's easier to follow. The focus is on the crime and not really the characters (well, sometimes they will.) I like Law and Order, Criminal Minds, CSI, Numbers, Without a Trace and there's probably others that will reel me in to watch. I watched a ton of them in college, because I worked at night at a bar and could never get into the serialized shows due to my schedule. Castle, Bones, and The Blacklist are my favorite. I watched House for a while, but then got bored. I also am enjoying Agents of SHIELD. Supernatural is kind of a mix as it often has individual stories each episode but also a overall season storyline.
