I don't really like the feeling of things on my wrists, and vests keep me warm without overheating or being uncomfortable. It helps that I live in the SF bay area, where the weather is pretty temperate. Vests are my favorite for outdoor activities like hiking, where I'm generating body heat but can still get chilly.
