But I also hate steamed oysters. I think they taste like chewy dirt. Strangely, though, I love to shuck them. Like I own a drawer full of oyster knives so I'm always prepared. I become the shucker when they're being eaten around me. They're a pretty common party/football food around here. I really thought I would, as I love scallops and mussels etc. I found it very hard to swallow the thing and not spit it out! @Shizaz: Yes I thought they were a little salty and fishy but that was fine by me, it was the slimey texture and the fact that it did not go anywhere when I chewed it that I struggled with!
