Love it, but I'm used to it :)

ETA: It does sometimes depend on the book, though!

For the most part I do, but it really depends on the book. I have a lot of his books memorized, though!

D LOVES it. He actually went and read to E's class a few weeks ago. He read Where The Wild Things Are and I Want My Hat Back. The teacher told me that not only were the children completely enthralled but so were the teachers and parents that were there. He loves doing voices, and really gets into it.

Depends on the book. Generally I don't mind it, but we have some that are long and poorly written and I hate to read those. I like reading books that are well written, funny, or have a good rhythm.

I really like it. I like making voices for the characters and making the story funny or scary or sad with my voice. :) My husband hates reading out loud but man, he is a champ for his little girl. He will read all day for her.

Yes! I can't wait until my son is old enough to read chapter books to him (we're still in Dr. Seuss land, which I love, but it's the same ones over and over!). I'd definitely recommend keeping a water bottle close at hand. And maybe a hard candy.

I would rather read out loud than sing a song (i'm awful, out of key, forget the words). I prefer books that have a good cadence like dr suess or the llama lama books

I sometimes get bored because LO chooses the books (sometimes I am so bored I override her choices, haha), but generally I like reading aloud to her, especially now that she's older and she gets it.

I'm also a librarian and used to do story times when I was an elementary school librarian. THAT was super fun to me because we always read a book (that I chose, obviously, so I only picked books that I think are fun) and did a craft/activity that went with the book. But bedtime reading with LO of Corduroy for the 100th time is not quite that fun.

I love reading books aloud to E - I make it fun by trying to do a better and better job every time, inserting dramatic pauses and putting on funny voices. Its the way I cope with her Peppa Pig books (so boring, but she loves them), by honing my impersonations of the characters; I've got Miss Rabbit nailed to perfection now! :silly:

I don't do it often enough yet to not enjoy it. I like reading to LO and pausing to show him the pictures. What I don't like is listening to DH read aloud because he adds commentary to the books and doesn't show the pictures. :silly:

I enjoy it. I do get the dry throat thing, but we can read several books or a few chapters of a bigger book before that happens.

I really enjou children's books so yes... I do get tired of reading the saaame board book over and over and over again but I love that my 2yo loves books and is into learning.. It's also fun to see him memorizing books.. I feel warm and fuzzy and so happy that he's growing up reading lots and lots so I guess that trumps the dry throat for me lol.

Oh and former teacher over here too haha. Grade 1!

I like reading aloud, but I don't like reading the same book over and over again. Dd is only 17 months so as soon as we finish a book she wants to start it again.

Yes! Former theatre geek here. Reading aloud is my fave.

But I hear you on the dry throat. No monologues I ever did went on for multiple chapters (although I was in one two-person play and that was a lot of talking :silly: )! Warm tea helps.
