I have a sewing machine but I've only really made some halloween costumes with it. It's more like a survival thing. For instance, when we moved in, someone had to trim the curtains because there was no seamstress/dry cleaner in town (in fact, I still haven't found a dry cleaners)! I used to perform surgery on our dogs' stuffed animals weekly, and now it's all about replacing buttons and sewing up whatever Wagon Jr. has managed to damage (for instance, he pulled the tassel off of his favorite winter hat yesterday). </p> <p>The sad thing is that my "sewing basket" is a plastic Hello Kitty accessories case (think super-tiny caboodle) and everything in it is from a cheap sewing kit. There's also a tomato pincushion I bought once when I was feeling ambitious, but I made the mistake of also buying a supply of needles and sticking them in the tomato... they all disappeared into it and I can't get them out! Such a sewing noob move.</p> <p>Now I'm looking for a nice sewing basket and WHY ARE THEY ALL SO UGLY?!?! Oh my goodness. </p>
