It was 100% effective for us (according to PP, it's 97% when used correctly, which is better than condoms). It's not as satisfying, but it leaves the burden of the mess on him usually, which is nice. :) I don't respond well to hormonal birth control. It has slightly lower hormones and I always needed low hormone pills or my body went crazy. Also, my body only ever dilated to 4 cm before I ended up needing a c-section so I've never had a vaginal delivery. And lastly, we're using it between kids and don't need anywhere near the 5 years that Mirena gives (heck - I'll have it removed before the 3 years that Skyla gives too!).</p> <p>My NP who placed mine says they are advertising it more towards women without children since it is a bit smaller. Before this we NTNP and I got pregnant first cycle for each baby and now in the nine cycles since I've had a period after baby 2 we've had no scares! So I think it's working just fine.
