Like the other day one knocked down a giant trash can (the outdoor kind that get picked up by the city) by accident and just left it like that.. two days have passed and its still laying there.. waiting for ME to pick it up I guess. Probably not a big deal but when I am exhausted and pregnant it is. We don't really have anything in common so we keep our convos short and focus on work a lot. It makes for a very long day! I work with younger women and most of them are both catty and flaky. One woman is my mom's age and is the overbearing mother type, which gets old. I already have a mom, thanks. There is another woman who has just been bitchy from the first day I met her. She does things like call me by the wrong name (Wendy...wtf...not even close to my name), even in emails...where my email is <a href="mailto:myname@organization.org">myname@organization.org</a>. It's not even like its a huge office...there are 12 of us. Everyone else (including my direct supervisor) is great, though!! The other people in my community that I work within I get along with but its hard at times. Most people who work in my communuty are retired Military who servwed 20 + years. I only served 6, so with that I am also SO MUCH YOUNGER than everyone else, and the only female. Its hard because I feel somegtimes I am second guessed more in my job because they look at me like a "kid", some talk down to me. But like said, at least majority of the time I work alone. I have one coworker who is the same role as I am, and we've grown to be good friends over the past year. I'm a trainer, so I deal with a wide population of people...I'd say I enjoy 75% of them. I'm transitioning to a new role on Monday, and I'm super nervous about getting to know all of my new coworkers. They are very nice but trying to hold a conversation with them is like pulling teeth. We've all worked as a team for over 6 years and can't get past small talk about the weather or what the Eagles are doing. It's an easy job so I can't complain. I used to be spoiled with fun, energetic co-workers, but used to be way over-worked. Now everyone I work with is either waiting to retire or die. Very depressing. Today we had a conversation that went like this: Coworker: "Are you trying not to breathe?" Me: "It hurts. Everything hurts." CW: "Why are you here, then?" Me: "My parents are at my house." He laughed and said, I'd be here, too. And I'd work late! :) Do you enjoy your co-workers? Do they help make your day go by quicker?
