i try not to limit anything, healthy or unhealthy. i try not to offer the unhealthy too much, so if he wants a few extra cookies, i don't see it as a big deal. i definitely don't limit healthy food. i find he barely eats anything as it is!

Not really. He's a good eater and loves his fruit but I've never seen any ill effects. He tends more towards constipated so if it helps him poop, that's good. We've never had gross diapers from fruit.

My DD is an olive fiend and we do limit those because they are so salty. The only thing I really have to limit aside from that is freeze-dried strawberries, not because they cause her any issues but because she just doesn't need to eat an entire bag all at once. She's pretty good at limiting herself otherwise. For most things, I feel she actually doesn't eat enough...especially anything green. I would be ecstatic if she ate that much broccoli EVER.

Nope! But then again, I barely limit anything. She's 2.5 and in that phase where I'm not really sure how she's still alive given that she may eat a cracker and some cheese one day and an entire plate of dirty rice the next, I just want her to eat. I do try to limit processed sugar, but only to the extent that she can't have tons of it.

Originally, I was going to say I don't but I totally do. I won't let her have a second serving of cheese or more than 1/2 a banana a day, both for fear of constipation. But for most food, I don't limit.

@nana87: I limit raspberries only because they are so expensive most of the time! I got them at Costco all summer and she would eat the entire container in two sittings, and that was with me stopping her halfway through. They never upset her stomach or anything I just wanted to save some for next time.

@MoonMoon: you are lucky then. Blueberry diapers are very very sticky over here. Ew.

Lo ate like an entire container of raspberries yesterday so I was just thinking about this, haha! I don't limit though, I'm still scarred from when she was itty bitty and not gaining weight so if it's healthy, I let her eat all she wants.

With the 10mo I have to limit fruit. He whines and cries for more all the time but I've never seen him turn up a bite of it and he would overeat on fruit for sure. Especially blueberries.

I do if it's something that seems to upset lo's stomach, but that's it. As far as the cheesy broccoli goes, I wouldn't stress. If she gets painful gas give her some gas drops if you have them, if not then lesson learned. I wouldn't think it'll be a big deal though!

Not really, since he's pretty good about eating variety. He loves baked beans, which might as well be called sugar in a can, but we let him have it one a week, and he always asks for more. And, we have an unlimited fruit policy in this house! I've never noticed blueberry diaper issues! Red quinoa diaper, yes, but that's a whole other story... :silly:

I limit myself by laziness lol. I sort of make what I make (which is generally a bit more than she *usually* eats) and when it is gone it is gone. Fruit I definitely limit because I feel like she'd never stop eating it otherwise lol. If she eats every bite of everything offered I do generally offer her more of a less-preferred food (something I know she likes but doesn't love) to make sure that if she is legit hungry she has food but isn't just eating because she's obsessed with X today.
