It is really interesting to hear about your musical tastes! I think I have listened to a lot more movie and not TV soundtracks. But I do remember trying to check out the soundtrack for the last season of SATC because I liked the French music they had when Carrie went to Paris. I really French music, too.

I used to love movie soundtracks and would buy CDs of those... Meaning the classical scores. I'm a nerd, hehe. My favorites were Braveheart, Man Without a Face, Titanic, and some I can't recall. I should mention those were all by the same composer, James Horner, so I suppose i Just really liked him.

I also really liked the first Twilight movie soundtrack... ;)

Yes! I don't watch as much TV as I used to, but I always enjoyed music from shows on the CW and how they featured a couple of them at the end. For the most part I wouldn't say most of the musicians were super popular, but I could be wrong.

I really liked the TV show La Femme Nikita from a long time ago (I haven't seen the new version). The show selected really obscure bands - at least, as far as my untrained ears were concerned. It really opened up my enjoyment of a whole group of bands and songs I never would've heard of otherwise: Mandalay (Please), Hooverphonic (This Strange Effect), and Mono (Silicone).

* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLqBmSJNZB0
* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nu2nSWSgFa8
* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKsefsgcZZc

(Other groups I found through LFN were Afro-Celt Sound System, Morcheeba and Morphine.)

There was this one episode where Michael and Nikita stayed in a log cabin in the woods and put on a record. The LP was of Fracoise Hardy singing Ma Jeunesse Fout Le Camp (translation: my youth is slipping away).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9RPGJxAlQ0

The lyrics are here... so wistful and sad. It was the first time I realized that I love sad music sung in French.

Anyway enough about my random musical interests. Do you listen to music from TV soundtracks? If so, let us know what shows and songs have piqued your interest!
