We bought a house that I really like, but DH finds something new that he doesn't like about it daily. He liked it when we bought it, but I think he's having buyer's remorse. We have been there about a year and a half. Plus we want more land and a better garage. This one may actually fall down. We LOVE our house, it's a great size and doesn't need any updating and has all our "must-have" list items (well, the reasonable ones, lol) - that said, it will be way too big for just 2 people. Then we'll probably rent out the house while we travel/live elsewhere parts of the year, so that if we do decide to come back to Austin and stay, we have a place to live! We bought this house last year and love it - it could easily meet our family's needs long term, and the location is fantastic, but DH and I are nomads (me as an expat, him as a former expat returned home after 20+ years) so whether or not we stay long term remains to be seen.</p> <p>We toy with the idea of either moving to a smaller, idyllic little English village, or moving back to London and living more centrally in the heart of things! And what I mean by that is that its a modestly priced single-story home that's easy to maintain. We bought our house from the original owners who were in their 90s and the house has a step-in shower and a soaking tub in the master bedroom with handrails and all that already in it. It has a hardwired fire/carbon monoxide system with sprinklers, a SUPER loud doorbell, and doorways/hallways that can easily be maneuvered by wheelchair. The only thing we'd need is a simple 5 inch ramp at the front door.
