They are building a new fire station about a mile from my house in the other direction, but I don't anticipate a lot of noise. I could throw a rock on them from our deck. Surprisingly I only rarely hear the trains. The ambulance station isn't too far, but we don't hear that often. We are pretty close to an open active quarry and 2-3 times a year a quarry blast will shake the whole neighbourhood.
