Hah! I loved the topic title. I was just mulling this over the day. While I love the extended time with The Bean, having a nanny around to help ease some of the burden is a huge relief. And being at work lets me feel like a functioning adult again.

hahah! i think its a mixture of both. I love spending time with my son (during the day) but it's definitely exhausting.

I wish! my husband's job doesn't recognize weekends or holidays. He can get called to work any time, any day, 24/7/365. He likes to say everyday is Monday at our house. There's no such thing as planning a weekend getaway.

I do but definitely not as much as pre-LO when I knew that I could veg out all weekend if I wanted to. Returning back to work on Monday mornings do seem like a nice "break" sometimes. It all depends on whether the LO was an angel or demon that particular weekend!

I'm an RN so I used to work my share of weekends and holidays... since I had my firstborn though, I went away with that schedule and got a M-F nursing gig to be like the rest of civilization. There are few things worse than getting your butt to work every other weekend, while most of the world, including your own family, has it off.

That being said, I treasure my weekends, no matter how exhausting they can be these days with two kids.

My husband works around the clock mostly, but weekend work can still be done from home. I'm a SAHM now, so it's just nice he's here on the weekends, and even if he's tied to a computer or the phone sometimes, it's better than when he's in the office. We try to get some fun family time in between his work demands. On weekends where he has minimal to no work at all, it's really appreciated.

I have to say though, yes I used to love Fridays, but now by Friday I am completely exhausted - not sure I like it as much now... and surprisingly, Mondays are actually nice now because I feel more energized and ready to start the week.

I'm a SAHM and I do look forward to weekends cause the husband is home to help with the LO. Plus, it's nice to spend time as a family.

I can totally understand how it could be the other way around though. Taking taking care of a kid for the whole day is like running a marathon. You have to condition and pace yourself to last the whole day. So if you're a sprinter who normally only entertains the LO for a few hours a day, a whole weekend is completely exhausting. :)

Everyday is a Saturday for me. Esp since my husband spends a lot of time at home. :D I do look forward to the weekends though because it's uninterrupted family time.

Mrs. Bee and I were laughing about how before we had kids, we used to always think, "TGIF"... as in, Thank God It's Friday. But after we had Charlie and suffered the constant exhaustion of days and days without sleep, we started to dread the weekends. Instead of thinking TGIF, we were thinking more along the lines of, "TGIM": Thank God It's Monday (and we can reunite Charlie with his nanny or daycare!).

I have to be honest though: parenting has become so more fun over time as Charlie has started to sleep through the night and become more fun too. Now I really look forward to the weekends! So it's back to TGIF as of late. :-)

Do you look forward to the weekends? Or are you relieved when they are over?
