Did something similar with blackberries. My favorite so far was the bittersweet chocolate ice cream that I made for a ice cream pie that I made for my mom for her birthday. Our local CSA (which is now just an education farm) lets us come and pick herbs if we share some of the things we make back with them, and I get lavender there. It's one of the most treasured parts of summer to me. I think Ellie shares some similarities with you, though she isn't as restricted. It's still hard when so many foods have artificial color.
