Nope, he's fine the way he is. If he thinks something is wrong, he works on it. He uses pimple cream which is uber sexy. :)

He takes care of his appearance by himself. He likes to look nice. That said, all he does is shave and get dressed in appropriate clothing lol. His get ready routine isn't anything fancy.

I try to make subtle hints to take care of himself, but he doesn't really care. Or he cares, but doesn't make the effort to do it aka make excuses. He'll go unshaven for as along as he can or until we're going out to meet up friends/go somewhere nice. He doesn't really watch what he eats so his weight is no bueno, etc. If I'm too straight forward with him, he gets sensitive and hurt so it's a catch 22. sigh.

Oh yeah! I'm a total nag if we are going out in public. He doesn't know how to dres appropriately for situations, he seems to either over or underdress so I help with that. He's really lazy about haircuts, toenails and lotion...I usually don't nag on those much though. I married him. ;-) I loooooooove when he grows his beard out though. Since the semester is almost over I'll have my sexy mountain man through January! Woop woop!

I get him to put lotion on his dry elbows and he thinks that's "abuse". There's no way I can get him to wear certain shirts, so I've let that go a long time ago. He's not at all GQ and I'm completely fine with it.

Nope! I knew what I was getting when I married and personally prefer a rugged man. My husband has a chainsaw in his hand 10 hours a day and always has a full beard. I'm sure you can guess how much he primps lol.

He's pretty on top of hygiene. He's the type of guy that showers twice a day and has cologne at home, a small one in his work bag, and another in the car console (even though he doesn't drive anymore). Gets haircuts. The works.

Pretty much the only thing we disagree about is that if like to wax the space between his eyebrows because he has some some errant hair there but he won't let me 95% of the time.

He probably dresses better than I do.

@PawPrints: lol I just made the appointments and told him about 5 min before we left that we were doing it, that no one would see him, that they didn't do polish on guys, and that they would rub his feet. He is pretty agreeable so he said he would try it. He actually enjoyed it! I took him to a place with a good massage chair and the foot bath and he said it was weird but felt good! Hah

Mostly just cutting his hair and shaving his neck (with electric clippers) when it's getting too long. His beard sometimes gets bushy, but I don't mind.

I generally don't care what he wears, but I do make him wear actual pants when I deem the occasion appropriate. But he lets his toenails get longer than is decent, and doesn't cut them until I complain enough. It's so gross.

I'm going batshit crazy in my head right now trying desperately to not make/force my DH to cut his hair. Everyone and their uncle is commenting to him how amazing it looks long, and I am dying inside, and honestly not attracted to him at all with it long. I wish every day he'll cut it, and every day I hear about who complimented it, arghhhh.

I don't bug DH about his appearance, I bug enough in other parts of his/our life that I desperately try not to comment on his appearance.

@Danizaur: Yea I'm the "dirty" one in our relationship haha. Unless we're going out or seeing people I generally don't shower on sundays… because Meh. Whereas my husband has to shower first thing or he "doesn't feel human"? Lol

Also he's an accountant. It's not like he gets very dirty in life.

@swedishfish: Force! I told him he was going to get wrinkles on his face when he turned 30 if he didn't. In the winter his skin gets ashy and I finally told him I would hold him down and put it on him if he didn't do it himself! He hated the greasy feeling when it first goes on but it absorbs and goes away eventually.

I have to stay on top of him because he forgets sometimes but he actually likes using it now.

My husband takes care of himself. He keeps himself in a better state than I do! (granted-- I work at home so yoga pants are basically my life). He's very clean, showers every day first thing, keeps his facial hair trimmed, uses my face lotion when his gets dry, gets haircuts every 2 mo, and wears nice clothes. He just likes looking nice.

My only complaint is his feet. bahhhhhh so gross lol. He doesn't keep his toenails in acceptable shape, IMO. I made him go with me to get a pedicure once bc I couldn't handle it anymore haha.

I do a little bit! He has super dry skin so I make him apply cocoa butter all over every day and on his face! I occasionally pluck the few little hairs in between his eyebrows just to polish them up.
Everything else I just let go. He shaves when he wants and wears what he wants. I pick out his clothes for him when we go somewhere nice but he prefers me to anyway.

He has admitted though that he has gotten used to using lotion everyday and hates the feeling of when he forgets to use it.

Do you make your SO take care of his appearance? Or does he do if on his own? If so, what?
