I usually do because it usually works. If it didn't work, I would definitely leave him! I also don't if it's near the 30-40 minute mark because he's more likely to wake up.

I can count on 2 fingers the number of times she has stayed asleep in the car seat after the car stopped. One time I brought her upstairs and she was out so cold I was able to move her to the crib and she stayed asleep (she seemed hot in the seat and looked uncomfortable). The other time she stayed asleep for an extra less than 10 minutes in the seat.

She almost never falls asleep in the car, and if she does she always wakes up when we stop. Even though our garage is nice and cool and dark and I would happily sit in the car with her in most cases.

If he was in the infant seat we'd just carry it inside and leave him in it in the nursery or living room.

Now that he's in the convertible no way. On the rare occasions he falls asleep in it he'll wake up as soon as we stop. And he's a really light sleeper--we've never been able to do a transfer from the crib without waking him up.

If it's late enough (say if we've been down at my ILs and he fell asleep coming home at night) we can usually move him. He still wakes up, but is usually sleepy enough to fall back asleep within a minute or two.

Honestly, I don't let her stay in the infant seat. Texas summers are brutal and she gets sweaty and hot so fast in her bucket seat; I take her out asap to cool her down. Now that the weather is getting cooler I let her sleep while I continue to empty the car, etc., but she never stays asleep long.

If we are going to a store or something, then yeah, I leave her in there rather than babywear.

If I know he was tired and needs to sleep for awhile, I'll transfer him to his swing. He always opens his eyes, but once the swing starts he's out again. If he's due to wake up soon, I'll let him sleep in the car seat because those naps never last long once he realizes he's not in a moving car!

I just sit in the car with her until she wakes up! She is such a light sleeper and short napper she is usually up in about 30-40 min.

I would when she stays asleep. She's such a light sleeper anyway, she;s usually up within 15-20 min. of getting home, if not while I'm taking her out. I think once we're in the convertible carseat, if she's asleep, I would stay in the car with her till she wakes up.

She is in a convertible seat now, but when she was in her infant carrier I always moved her. I tried leaving her in the seat a few times, but she would always wake up without fail everytime I tried.

Infant seat, yes; he stayed in it and slept.
But my son is such a light sleeper that even when I grabbed his seat out of the backseat, he startles awake.

If she's in the infant car seat, i would just leave her in there. I'd bring her inside but she'd finish her nap in the car. Though one time she was out cold so i took her out successfully!

Like pp, it's more difficult with the convertible seat. She will usually wake up.

Are you crazy? An asleep baby is a baby not to be messed with! (Unless she falls asleep on me, in which case ahe can be moved.) I would jostle her around too much getting her out and it would wake her up. I use that time to quickly get things done our put away before she wakes.

She is in an infant seat right now though. Convertable seat? Yeah, I would move her. Not waiting in the car for her nap to finish.

I sometimes move J if we get home and he is sleeping in his carseat, but sometimes I just leave him to finish his nap in the seat. I never know if he will nap better in the seat or if I should move him to the crib!
