Usually if we're going in the car and going to be outside for a short amount of time I'd just bundle a blanket on top of her, but we like to take walks in the winter so I like to put a jacket and blanket on her then. I bought my son a Columbia fleece jacket for his first year and we live in the Washington, DC area. Gets really cold here in the winter and snows a few days out of the year. We almost never really were outside much during the winter months so it was a good jacket. I had a North Face puffy coat for her and she wore it like twice - both times it snowed here and we went on the sled. Other than that, she had a baby gap pea coat and 2 zip up fleece jackets (north face and patagonia) and wore those a ton.
