An OB/GYN has been the only "specialist" I've never needed a referral for. I did too. It's likely that your PCP will do a urine test and then refer you to an obgyn which you may have some say in. We also had only a few hospitals to choose from. I have different copays for primary care and specialists, and my copay for my GYN is the same as for my GP because it's not a specialist. </p> <p>Does the provider have a website you can look at? I started seeing a new one upon finding out I was pregnant, as the one I had been seeing for years unfortunately went on leave for cancer treatment. Do they have a website? You could check your insurance coverage on there. Do I need a referral for an OB/GYN? It sounds strange to me, but what do I know! We changed insurance options this year and we haven't had to use them too much yet. </p>
